WE BUILT MORE THAN HOMES; WE BUILT HOPE.
PROJECT: FINANCIALLY SUPPORT RESCUE HOME FOR MENTALLY CHALLENGED GIRLS
Partner: Family Christian Ministries (formerly James Fund)
In 2012, we learned of an initiative to build five homes to house homeless widows in a remote and impoverished region of Guatemala. These women were given the opportunity to earn a wage working in a native shoe factory where the shoes were sold in Family Christian Stores, supporting their economy and learning valuable business skills. The Premier Foundation financially supported a rescue home for disabled and mentally challenged girls in Guatemala, many of whom were rescued from the horrors of human trafficking and the sex slave trade.
