WHEN SOMEONE IS ADOPTED, THEIR IDENTITY CHANGES FOREVER.
THE ATB VISION
Adoption, by definition, means making a commitment to taking responsibility for a life. In fact, that identity becomes a part of yours.
That foundational principle was at the heart of our vision in 2012, when we moved from meaningful projects in impoverished communities to transformational adoption of communities worldwide. Adopt the Block became an official charitable ministry of the Premier Foundation, born out of a need for more than just quick missions trips to impoverished areas.
Adopt the Block (ATB)’s vision: Create and sustain lasting change in communities for life, creating opportunities for the Foundation and its donors to take ownership of communities and experience the fruit of their investment year after year.
Instead of imposing what we "think" a community needs, we determine needs from those who live there.
This approach also opens opportunities for partner mission trips, fostering a sense of ongoing responsibility for those within the block and neighboring residents.
Our very first ATB project in Cozumel, Mexico within the Ciudad de Angeles block (July 2012) was a significant success. The idea was initiated from a mission excursion during a Premier Experience port stop in Cozumel. Over $20,000 was raised to fully fund the project for orphans at the children’s home.
We’re regularly setting newer, higher and achievable goals while prioritizing the communities by need, cost and impact.
